Pay it forward

Week 6 - making an older lady's day

So i was in a long line waiting to checkout, with, of course stupid me, a huge handful of stuff.  Because why would i ever think to grab a basket…oh thats right because i always say to myself

"ill only be going in for one thing"…rarely happens…

Anyways, so there i am standing in this long line, stuff practically falling out of my arms and this cute little older lady, all by herself in front of me says:

" here hunny, put your stuff down before you drop it"

(little did she know i HAD in fact dropped some things once).  But she only had 1 thing and saw i was struggling, so moved up as far as she could so i could put my stuff down on the conveyor belt.

Super Sweet of her!

So, this was it, i said to myself I'm gonna help this kind woman with her grocery bill.  Not anything crazy but something to help.  Turns out, she only had a package of cookies.  Thats it.

I bought her cookies…and she was overjoyed.

I made her day, she said.  I have to think that this was the first RAOK she has ever experienced by her reaction.  It was, yet again, a very fulfilling RAOK.  Love it…

Have a great Weekend!

I know i will I am coaching Tball for for Porters Team tomorrow!  Go Phillies!

Oh, and in there news, theres a website in the making.  Photography business is official, domain name and all.   Stay tuned...

A little luck

Week 5: Lotto Ticket

This week was a fun week for my random act of kindness.  Ill explain.  The plan was to leave a lotto ticket taped to the lotto vexing machine at Wegmans.  (local grocery store)  I asked the CS desk for some register tape, a pen, and some tape.  they were curious and i told them my plan.  They had very kind words to say about the plan.  So Moving along, i went out taped the lotto ticket and a little note to be had by the first person who saw it.  I left the store, and waited for 5 minutes or so (i was super excited to see a reaction!) and no one saw it not a one.  So i decided since the boys were with me id just leave it to fate and know i made someones day a little brighter and full of hope.  I walked to my car, got the kiddos in and buckled and went to return the cart to the nearest cart stall.  As i turned around to walk it over, a lady stopped me and said

"here let me take that for you, I have kids, not this age anymore, but i have done this before".

I kindly told her i appreciated it and turned back to get in my car.  Then…i remembered…I turned back around said,

"Hey Miss!  Check the lotto machine when you go in"

I had no idea if my little surprise was still there or not, but since i she was so kind i figured might as well give her a shot if it was!  I got in my car, and curious as i was, drove up to the front of the sure hoping to watch and see if she did in fact get it.

Wouldn't you know…not only did she get it, she recognized my car as i was driving past and smiled and waved…

I love it.  I couldnt have been more giddy and had a huge smile on my face.  I was certainly not expecting to GET a reaction i just wanted to see one.  Again…my RAOK made my day.

change is good

This week was a bit hectic…i was called for work at the last minute to respond to the F18 navy plane crash that happened last week in VA beach.  So in a one day trip i went down.  Here's a few pictures to share with all of you.

So when i returned i decided it time for a change (and a much needed update!) in my hair color.  I went to this super awesome stylist once before and requested a rather unique hair coloring method, basically you dye the underneath of your hair darker and the op it heavily layered so it gives a pretty neat effect.  She did such a great job the first time i went back.  So….heres to change!

Week 4:  Change for both of us - A large tip

I decide this week's RAOK would go to my super talented hair dresser, Shannon who works at Bella Salon in Eagle (for all those who live in the area) I gave her large tip and asked if she wouldn't mind if i got a picture with her to show share this weeks RAOK with all of you :)

Thanks Shannon!

the mailman's gift

This week i got Porter involved in being kind.  Heres how.

Week 3:

a thank you to the mailman

Porter loves to go up to the mailbox as soon as he sees the mailman start to come down our street.  I stay back on the porch and let his cute little independance get the mail as the mailman pulls up to our house.  The mailman waves at me, and Porter runs down the driveway all excited to hand me the mail.

This week I asked Porter if he wanted to put a little thank you card for the mailman and it went a little something like this…

Notice the Francesco drawing, yes from Cars 2, on the left part of the card that Porter drew for the mailman.   Porter insisted i tell the mailman that he drew Francesco from Cars 2 and old me exactly what to write.  He was very engaged in this RAOK.

And guess what!  The mailman left a little kindness of his own!  A coloring book about the wonders of America and some crayons!  A sweet gift and a great way to show Porter that kindness can sometimes have its rewards.

random thoughts on a tuesday

PorterStrip wm

Hiya!  So heres the thing…i haven't been very attentitive to my little bloggy blog lately and ill tell a why  - I'm working on something - you could say a surprise - but the little filmstrip you se above kinda gives it away.  You wanna know you say?  Well ill spill - I am gonna go for it and become a real actual photographer (llc and everything!!) Wahoo!!  Im super excited.  And for all 3 of you lovely dedicated readers, i hope you are too.

Ok on to business.

Random thoughts:

-swim diapers are NOT a good substitute for actual diapers.

-my dog smells.  all the time.  even after baths.  yikes.

-old lady cashiers take way too long to oogle my kids as i checkout in the grocery store.  its not like they have short patience after being confined to a rolling jail for an hour.  They aren't unhappy or throwing tantrums, at all.

-i got a new color essie. tart deco. its pretty amazing.

-i get to see my super de duper cutie pie sissie this weekend.  im pretty excited.

-im convinced the husband is a car whisperer.  i swear the cars he chooses, no matter what he does to them, they always last a really long time.  (side note: he has caught one on fire trying to fix it - and it survived- with little damage)

Thats all for now.  Whats your random thoughts?  Yes you, then one who secretly reads my blog, but never comments.  Tell me your random thoughts!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
