the little things

"Your the bestest mommy in the whole best world", thats right…he said it.  And I will cherish that  line every time he says it.  Cause I know he isn't going to say it forever.  It's these kinds of things I just eat right up, he can get almost anyhting with that line, genius on his part really.

It's almost halloween, we aren't much into decorating for this season, im waiting…until Xmas - seriously right around the corner.  I know i know mayyybe i'm a bit early, i just love everything about it!  And it happens to be right near Porter's birthday (he will be 5 this year, yikes!)

So its an added bonus, I absolutly love planning my kids' birthday parties.  I am looking forward when they can see thier pictures and really remember the fun they had  Porter remembers his birthdays ever since he turned 3!

Annnnd summing up my week, a picture of my new camera bag and me. (purple tights and all - I'm getting adventurous!)

date night

Thats right folks - we spent an entire 3 hours, just us.  It was everything we wanted it to be. The world was ours  - and what did we do for our escape away from our precious little handsomes?  We ate yummy food and took pictures of the fall moon.  Ok so lately when we have date nights we are trying the "new" thing - Maaaaybe you've done it - but its new to us.   If you havent tried it, you should -  its pretty awesome.  So we ventured to West Chester and ate at Kildares Irish pub - had a our entree and a drink.  This place is super cute reminds me of an old Irish stone village home or something.  Then we went to Doc Magrogans and ate an appitizer and then our desserts.  Puts a spin on the typical date night hmm hmm.  You outta try it it may just knock your socks off.

we think ours is the best

Say what?! I am talkin about punkins' peeps.  See we went to a farm this weekend, even though I was terribly ill - im a good sport - and let the little guys pick whichever they thought was the very best one.    They did.  Took all of 5 minutes, then Porter saw the hayride tracter and gunned it to the line to ride it again.  (We rode it in you see)  He did in fact pick out a couple a good pumpkins though - gotta hand it to the little guy.

So after our extremely short patch look and find, we ate the yummiest ice cream.  Once we told Porter about the ice cream he practically pulled Blake up the hill to get there faster.  One of the few times I've seen him hold Blakes hand without being asked.

its fall for sure

And of course that means:

1.  Its almost Christmas

2.  Its almost Christmas

3.  Pumpkin spice latte's are now available at Starbucks!!

So i decided that rather then driving myself mad picturing the next time i could get my hands on a yummy pumpkin spice latte at Lots' o Bucks…as with anything else I eat and love i tried to make my own and i have to say, friends it was FAB- U-LOS.  In that wow i cant believe i made this kind of way.

So here is how its done class:

  • 1 level tablespoon pumpkin puree (canned)
  • 1 cup milk (I used almond - thats what we have in our house)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups strong coffee (brewed using 2 tbs per 1 cup of water - or you can do it the "lets be quick about this!" way and brew it in your brewing station uing the low amount setting)
You can also use a shot or two of espresso instead of coffee.
  • Sugar to taste
  • Whipped cream

Heat the milk pumpkin puree, spices, and vanilla all in a cup in the microwave for 1 minute.  Using a frother, froth the milk mixture blending all ingredients.  (or use a blender.)

For each serving: Pour 1/2 cup of the pumpkin mixture into your coffee mug then add 1 cup of brewed coffee. Top it off with some whipped cream and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.  Viola!

Now go make yourselves a little treat, on me.  And share the love with a friend…

clothing exchange for charity

This event was seriously the best darned idea i have ever heard of.  A friend of mine had this party at her place  - she invited about 25 girls.  So lets just say her house turned into a giant closet where everything in it was free game.  Every girl invited brought clothes they were going to donate anyways.  The house was divided into sections with empty racks and hangers for the girls clothes to be hung.  Once all items were out it was time to "shop"!  Everyone went around the rooms and it was first come first serve.  There was everything from purses, jewlrey, all types of clothes.

Once we all had our choices we fnished up with some goodies and wine/juice (there were some pregos) and the rest of the clothes were donated to support a cause.

I am already starting to think about having one myself - I ended up scoring some cute items - and felt awesome that my clothes not wanted were going to a good cause.
